3 Healthy Herbal Teas to Drink Daily

There are a lot of health benefits of herbal tea, and the great thing about herbal tea is that it is caffeine free, this means you can drink it multiple times a day and any time of day. Different teas will have different health benefits for you and your body. Drinking herbal tea is a perfect way to warm up on a cold day or relax after a long day of work.

When drinking any type of tea you should never reboil the water. Every time you reboil the water it loses some of the oxygen content. There are also some theories on how reboiling water will cause toxins in the water, I am not sure how true this is or why it happens but I like to stick with fresh water just in case!

Here are 3 Herbal Teas I love

Night time Chamomile


What even is a chamomile? I did not know this until a little bit ago but chamomile is daisy like plant that is most commonly used for making tea. It is one of the most popular teas for drinking late at night right before bed. Chamomile helps with insomnia, and is perfect for when you are home sick with a sore throat or stuffy nose. You can add manuka honey and lemon for more flavor. (Steep 4-7 minutes)


Peppermint tea

Peppermint tea is said to enhance your dreams and stimulate creativity. I am not so sure how true this is but it is still one of my favorites! Peppermint tea is really good for relaxing an upset stomach or if you are feeling gassy. You might want to avoid peppermint tea if you are prone to heart burn as you might already know peppermint can make it worse. (Steep 30-60 seconds)

Lemon Tea 


Lemon tea is fresh and perfect for making into an ice tea in the summer months when it is too hot for regular tea. Not only is this tea uplifting but has many health benefits like being an antioxidant, antiseptic, and strengthens brain and memory function. (Steep 4-7 minutes)

While loose leaf tea is better than tea in a bag because you get full leaves instead of pretty much “tea dust” that does not mean that tea in a bag is bad for you or does not have any benefit at all. If you are new to drinking tea you can start with trying a few different teas from the grocery store and then later when you really find what you like you can advance to a more expensive loose leaf tea.
